The variety of products aimed at the wallets of “pet parents” is already dizzying, but beer for dogs? Seriously?
A friend asked me recently if I’d heard of a beer for dogs called “Bowser Beer.”
Now, apparently I’ve been thinking and writing about death and funerals and such for too long because I immediately pictured a bier — the stand used to support a casket during a funeral. Knowing the market for funeral- and burial-related products for beloved pets has also exploded in recent years, however, I replied that I wasn’t surprised even though I thought “Bowser bier” was a little cutesy given the product’s somber purpose.
